This is one of several unmetalled county roads (UCR) which can be found in the Kirby Stephen region of Cumbria. It is over 3 miles in length. It has a well made road surface that runs by the side of cultivated fields in the west, crosses Scandal Beck before continuing over the fells towards the east, here the track is less obvious where it opens out to be 3 or 4 tracks running parallel to each other.
